During summer 2013 I assisted Jonathan Bepler preparing scores and facilitating the live performance of BA, a battle scene between Egyptian gods Horus and Set witnessed by a vocalising mass of supporters at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

The 500-strong 'choir' was made up of extras rather than professional singers and this, coupled with limited rehearsal time and complex choreography posed interesting compositional challenges, and strategical challenges concerning its performance.

The navy yard was also the site of Horus' coronation aria, largely devised in the studio and re-created/performed on-screen as water floods into the drydock.
